Shade Structure Will Provide Respite from Sun at Kingwood Dog Park

The Kingwood Dog Park, an off-leash dog area located at 178 Horseshoe Bend Rd. in Horseshoe Bend Park, will have a shade structure erected for dogs and their human companions to enjoy a break from the sun in the coming months.

The Kingwood Township Parks & Recreation Board committed $800 to the structure, along with promising to handle the permitting and installation. Generous local residents raised an additional $1,500 to ensure there is enough funding for the project.

While the date for the installation is not yet set, there is hope that it will bring residents back to the park who no longer use it due to health and safety concerns.
