Planning Board Considering Tightening Data Center Regulations

Data centers and their impact on communities have been featured prominently in the news across the country. On May 27, Gov. Mikie Sherrill announced a comprehensive statewide plan to address the impact of data centers on local communities.

The Frenchtown Planning Board will be considering the need for any changes to the borough ordinance regarding data centers. The board will study ordinances from other small municipalities, looking into the definitions of data centers (large and small). The board aims to advise council of any need to change the borough land use ordinance later this year.
